OpesCare facts

A short, citable description of what OpesCare is, what it does and what it does not do.

In one sentence

OpesCare is a free, bilingual (English and French) web service for Cameroon that helps people find a medicine at a nearby pharmacy, find blood products at blood banks, book an appointment with a provider, and browse the national health facility directory.

It also gives patients a portable Health ID and a longitudinal health record that clinicians can read only with a recorded basis, such as an appointment or a consent grant.

What OpesCare does

What OpesCare does not do

  • It does not guarantee stock. Availability is reported by facilities and timestamped; call the pharmacy to confirm.
  • It does not show demo or estimated stock as live availability. An empty result means no facility has reported stock.
  • It does not sell insurance or process insurance claims.
  • It does not offer in-app video consultations.
  • It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call the local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital.

How to join

Privacy and security

Clinicians read a patient’s record only with a recorded basis (appointment, care team, facility episode or consent grant). Every access is logged and visible to the patient. Emergency (break-glass) access is recorded and notified. Privacy policy
